Attention to Detail – DNA is Absolute
How to correctly take a hair sample for testing and avoid recalls and additional charges

Step 1 – At the swish of the tail carefully part the hairs in a spread-out format

Step 2 – Pluck the cleanest dry hairs – a small few at a time taking care to ensure you have a good profile of hair roots.

Step 3 – Ensure you have good quality roots collected. DNA is held in the root. The success of the lab test reflects on the quality of your sample
Finally – Check that the tag number of the calf corresponds to the ID No. on the hair card / DNA bag
Note: Hairs extracted from other parts of the coat will result in a poor DNA sample!
