Castleblagh Keet Ruth EX90, dam of Castleblagh Ruthless

The Castleblagh herd was started in 1976 with the purchase of heifers from the Moneymore, Cradenhill and Springhaven herds. A closed herd policy has been practiced over the years. It is regarded as one of the consistantly top EBI herds in Ireland, currently ranking in the top 1% nationally. Numerous bulls have been purchased for AI in recent years including Castleblagh Odie (ABO), Castleblagh Ruthless (FZC), Castleblagh Thumper (THP), Castleblagh Garndy (YGD), Castleblagh Ronnie (FR2297) and Castleblagh Legacy (FR4685).

A strong theme of the pedigree catalogue was the strong cow families consistantly performing generation after generation, high protein and fat deviations, regular calving intervals and high fertility scores. Longevity was also a strong feature and this was recognised and rewarded in the trade with some older, mature cows having predicted calving dates for next year making very good money.
